(Middle School and High School Level Classes)
Capital Stage’s Youth Theatre is a program designed for middle school and high school-aged students, who are continuing their theatre training or discovering a love of theatre for the first time. Students enrolled in the Summer Performance Program will learn to use mind, voice and body to connect with on their fellow actors and with a live audience. From story and character development, to ensemble-building, to live performance, skills learned in this class will help students grow - both as artists and as people!
Middle School (Entering Grades 6-8)
Class/Rehearsals: M-F 10am-1:30pm and Saturday, August 3 Noon-5pm
Performance: Saturday, August 3 5pm
Tuition: $350

High School (Entering Grades 9-12)
Class/Rehearsals: M-F 2pm-5:30pm and Saturday, August 3 Noon-5pm

This summer Capital Stage presents a rigorous two-week program in which students will work together to rehearse and perform a short play under the guidance of professional theatre artists. The classes meet Mondays through Fridays, plus one additional 5-hour Saturday rehearsal to prepare for performance. Students will perform in front of a live audience on Saturday, August 3 at 5pm at Capital Stage.
Each student will receive 2 tickets to the performance as part of their class tuition. Additional tickets may be purchased for $10 on a first come, first served basis.
Classes will take place at Capital Stage in Midtown Sacramento, 2215 J Street
